I have a Singer 591 quilting machine with a 12 foot table which allows me to do the "side to side" quilting, following many beautiful patterns. I have many happy mail-order customers through my online shop at kentuckyquilter.etsy.com My prices are very reasonable and I am very fast. Contract Sewing – Contractors must sew in their own business or at home on their own industrial machines, no piecework. Currently Kellé Company only uses local contractors. Contractors able to handle large orders, 500 or more garments per week, are encouraged to inquire. We will work with smaller contractors as well. Qualifications/Skills: - Sew by sample or catalog photos and interpret basic pattern pieces. - Skillfully sew on stretchy fabrics such as lycra, spandex, etc. - Ability to use a 4-thread industrial serge machine, single needle, and cover stitch. - Ability to follow instructions on job tickets for correct size, thread color, and cutting notches. - Some knowledge of the English language preferred, but not required. 30/09/2009 : Seeking contract sewer ASAP to cut & sew handbags, totes and wristlets for a new line of casual bags. MUST be knowledgeable of handbag construction in order to make a quality and sturdy product. Must be comfortable working with and have the equipment to handle faux leather and faux suede materials. I will provide patterns. I am in the Philadelphia area but will work with someone who is willing to ship quality product with quick turnaround. Candidates should possess professional and quick sewing, cutting, pattern-grading and pattern-making skills; have experience working with knit fabrics (cotton, rayon/poly/cotton); be able to work from CAD designs (preferred), sketches or samples; own or have access to appropriate equipment (serger/overlock, industrial sewing machine, etc.); produce work that looks handmade (custom), not homemade; have an appropriate workspace away from small children, pets, smoke, etc.; be self-starting, able to adhere to strict deadlines, professional, responsible and have accurate follow-through; guide cost-cutting processes by positioning fabric, suggesting sewing short-cuts, etc. Out-of-state-seamstresses are welcome.
